Dead & Stuck Pixel Scanner
Detect defective display pixels by cycling through high-contrast RGB primary colors, CMY secondary colors, and pure black/white fields. Click to enter Fullscreen mode.
How to Perform a Dead Pixel Inspection
Wipe away all dust, fingerprints, and smudges with a microfiber cloth so you don't mistake dust for a bad pixel.
Click the tester viewport above to expand to full borders. Press Spacebar or Left/Right arrows to cycle colors.
Sit approximately 12–18 inches away and scan systematically across White, Black, Red, Green, and Blue screens.
A dead pixel is a pixel where the power transistor has permanently failed in the OFF state. It appears as a tiny black dot against pure white or bright solid colors. Dead pixels cannot typically be repaired via software.
A stuck pixel occurs when one of the three subpixels (Red, Green, or Blue) is frozen in the ON state. It appears as a bright colored dot against a dark or black screen. Stuck pixels can often be unstuck using our OLED Burn-in & Pixel Fixer.
Need to Unstick a Pixel or Test Backlight?
Run the rapid OLED exerciser to flash high-frequency color patterns over the stuck area.
Pre-Built Screen Test Modules
Run dedicated hardware-level automated test patterns to diagnose panel defects, calibration anomalies, response times, and subpixel clarity.
Dead & Stuck Pixel Scanner
Automatically cycles through high-contrast primary RGB and CMY solid colors to easily spot permanently dead (black) or stuck (single color) subpixels.
Backlight Bleed & IPS Glow
Presents a 100% pure black field with subtle corner and edge quadrant markers to inspect light leakage on IPS, VA, and edge-lit LED displays.
OLED Burn-in & Ghosting
High-frequency rapid color cycling and noise dithering to unstick stubborn pixels, test for image retention, and exercise OLED phosphors.
Color Uniformity & Banding
Renders ultra-smooth horizontal/vertical color ramps and grayscale steps to diagnose color stepping, banding, and dirty screen effect (DSE).
Contrast & Gamma Matrix
32-step shadow detail (0%–15% IRE) and highlight blocks (85%–100% IRE) to detect crushed shadow blacks and clipped highlight whites.
Motion Blur & UFO Refresh Rate
High-speed animated UFO objects moving at pixel-synchronized velocities with real-time FPS/Hz detection to test display ghosting and MPRT.
Text & Subpixel Clarity
High-density 1-pixel micro-grids and font rendering tests across varied point sizes to check ClearType antialiasing and RGB/BGR subpixel layouts.
Ambient Ring Light & Glow
Transforms your monitor into a soft studio ring light or warm ambient glow for Zoom video calls, streaming, and soft night desk lighting.
Solid Color Palette & Custom Shade Generator
Select from standardized screen calibration shades or generate custom RGB/Kelvin values for panel analysis, photography backdrops, and ambient lighting.
