Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 8, 2026 • Effective Immediately

1. Overview & Core Privacy Principle

At Black Screen (blackscreenimage.com), your privacy is our highest priority. Our display diagnostic and screen calibration tools are engineered to execute 100% client-side inside your web browser.

We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal information, captured screen media, or diagnostic records to external servers. You can use all features—including color palettes, automated test modules, and screen video recording—without registering for an account or providing any personally identifiable information (PII).

2. Screen Video Recording Privacy

Our website features a built-in screen recording utility powered by the standard HTML5 navigator.mediaDevices.getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder browser APIs.

  • Local In-Memory Processing: Recorded test sessions are processed exclusively in your device's temporary memory (RAM).
  • Zero Server Uploads: Recorded video files are never streamed, uploaded, or saved to any remote server or third-party cloud.
  • User-Controlled Downloads: Once a recording finishes, the generated file (.webm) is downloaded directly to your local storage when you click "Download Video Recording". Discarding the video immediately purges it from your browser's local memory.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We believe in data minimization. Specifically, Black Screen does NOT collect:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical mailing addresses.
  • Passwords, login credentials, or payment information.
  • Screen contents, screenshots, or webcam video feeds.
  • Hardware serial numbers or MAC addresses.

4. Local Storage & Cookies

Black Screen uses minimal browser localStorage strictly to remember your preferred UI theme (Light Mode vs. Dark Mode) between visits. We do not use persistent tracking cookies, cross-site tracking beacons, or behavioral advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services & Web Fonts

To deliver modern typography, our site loads standard Google Fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono). Google may log standard HTTP request metadata (such as IP address and user-agent) according to Google's standard privacy practices.
